The construction of the new stadium in the Western suburbs of the Recife metropolitan area began from October 2010 and it is home to three Brazilian clubs – Nautico, Santa Cruz and Sport. The arena is part of a complex that includes a university campus, indoor arena, hotel and convention center and also featuring restaurants, shopping centres and cinemas. Here has been implementing a solar power plant which will be able to generate enough energy for the average consumption of 6,000 people. Arena Pernambuco stadium will host four group matches and a round of 16 match during FIFA World Cup 2014.
